Holy Week is the blazing center that the whole church calendar revolves around. In it we relive the most significant events in history - the declaration of Jesus as King on Palm Sunday, the death of Jesus for sin on Good Friday, waiting in quiet at the tomb of Jesus on Silent Saturday, and finally the victory of Jesus over death by His resurrection on Easter Sunday. Join us for Palm Sunday, our annual three day fast, a Passover Seder, Good Friday, and finally our celebration of Easter Sunday on March 31st!
*Event details for each can be found below.*
The 24/7 prayer room is back! We’re committing to having at least one person praying each hour from midnight on Palm Sunday (3/24) to the beginning of our Good Friday Tenebrae Service at 7:30 pm on 3/29. If you don’t know how to pray for one hour, don’t worry! There are lots of activities, prayer books, and guiding resources in the prayer room. God desires for you to draw near to Him.
We are coming together as a church body to fast and pray for Jesus to move mightily in and through us as we invite our community to celebrate Resurrection Sunday together. We believe that fasting is a powerful part of growing in intimacy with God and seeing His power and presence increase in our lives. We desire to see our city and world transformed, and our neighbors, friends, and individuals in need healed and brought into the family of God.
TCLA will begin fasting on Sunday, March 24th by abstaining from breakfast and will end our fast together on Tuesday evening, March 26th by feasting together at Upside Down Coffee from 5:30-7:00pm. More information on fasting can be found in our fasting guide below.
We deeply desire God to work in each of us to grow our adoration for Him and to help us as wel learn to follow Him. We also long to see our friends, coworkers, family, and neighbors experience the beauty of life with Jesus. We’ll gather in the evening on Palm Sunday to ask the Lord to move in these ways.
Join us on Sunday, March 24th from 7:00-8:30 pm at Upside Down Coffee.
This powerful dinner event, led by Isaac Brickner of Jews for Jesus, will help us discover the link between the Jewish feast of Passover and the last supper Jesus shared with His disciples. Join us for an exploration of the beautiful symbolism of the Jewish ceremonial meal called a seder. We’ll weave the story of the exodus and freedom from slavery together with the messianic hope realized in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
Join us Tuesday, March 26th at Upside Down from 5:30-7:00 pm. RSVP below by March 24th so that we can plan accordingly for food.
On Good Friday, Followers of Jesus participate in the sacrifice of our King for sin in order to defeat death's grip on the world and reunite us into the life of God. Join us as shared liturgy, collective readings, and the story of scripture sweep us into the collision between the goodness of God's love and the brutality of evil in our world on Good Friday. We don't say this often, but you don't want to miss this.
Good Friday, March 29th from 7:30-8:30pm at Upside Down.
* We will provide $5 for parking in the Broxton Garage | Kids over 5+ are welcome to join *
On Easter Sunday, we participate in the victory of Jesus' resurrection from death and pouring forth of life into the world. This celebration is a remarkable opportunity to receive afresh the joy and peace of God - Jesus is alive and God is unshakably with us, so all is well and all will be well! Take the opportunity to invite a few friends outside the church to join in hearing the glorious good news of the gospel and share in a celebration lunch to follow.
We invite you to join us on March 31st at 10 am at Upside Down Coffee for Easter Sunday Service and an Easter Dinner Party from 6-8 pm (RSVP for location).
* Free parking in the Broxton Garage | Free lunch following gathering | Childcare available *
